The GCFNC Theme Song
(to the tune "Click Go The Shears")
Up on the hill there's an old football ground
Open your ears and you'll hear the voices sound
In all the blooming mountains, wherever you may go
There's not another team that we can't put to show
For we are the Brook boys Yip ! Yip ! Yip !
Our boots are so fast when we really let 'em rip
There's not another team that we can't put to shame
Cause we're the boys from Gembrook and we really play the game.
CLUB ROOM INFORMATION
PRE-SEASON CLUB ROOM ACCESS
Cardinia Council allocated tenancy of the clubrooms and main oval on a six month season basis, meaning that from 1 April to 30 September, the football club is the tenant and from 1 October to 31 March, the Gembrook Cricket Club is the tenant.
The football and cricket clubs usually agree to vary this at the end of their seasons, depending on finals participation, etc., however it should be noted that until this agreement has been reached at the end of the cricket season, the football club may only use the rooms and the main oval with the permission of the cricket club. At present there is an amicable working arrangement between the two clubs.
MEETINGS
Most meetings of the club are open meetings. If you wish to attend any please ask the President or Secretary for details of the next meeting.
ELEVATOR
The upgraded Football & Cricket Pavilion at the Gembrook Recreation Reserve is equipped with an elevator which is designed to cater for physically incapacitated and/or elderly patrons and goods. Please ensure it is not used for any other purpose.
NO SMOKING
Please note the "No Smoking" policy.
MAINTENANCE
There is a common misconception that the Shire fixes all maintenance problems. The reality is that essentially the tenant clubs are responsible for all items (eg electrical, painting, plumbing) inside the club rooms, and the Shire responsible for external including the oval. We value the contribution of those in the club who are tradespeople and can offer their assistance with such maintenance.
CLEANING
The club pays for a contractor to keep the rooms at a reasonable standard during the football season. However it is up to all of us to try to keep the rooms clean so that we can minimise the number of services (and therefore cost) required.
RUBBISH BINS
We ask all of our players and parents to respect the rooms we have, and try to ensure bins are used, and that we try to keep all parts of the club (inside the rooms/outside the rooms/surrounding environment) as clean as possible, and respect what we have.
